I have been playing the MacSax Empyreal alto for the last 2 months on gigs as lead alto in Los Angeles as well as with Frankie Valli on tour and I have been completely satisfied and surprised at how well the horns tunes, responds in all registers, vibrates, resonates and plays altissimo exceptionally well. Looking forward to making some vids with it! This is the horn of the future and together with the FJIII I play it is a sheer joy. My playing has improved as I do not have to worry about the gear! The MacSax Enpyreal is simple the best horn available since the Selmer Mark VI. I have been playing saxophones for over 25 years and I like to try them all. I had Selmer's, Yangisawa's, Keilwerth's, Yamaha's, etc. The Empyreal alto sounds better and has better action than anything I have tried including my Selmer Mark VI. At a recent gig, people were constantly asking "What kind of sax is that?" When I told them what it is and the price they were amazed. Any serious saxophonist should try a MacSax and be prepared to be blown away. They are that good.

The MACSAX Empyreal alto saxophone is the best sax I have ever played! I have over eleven years of experience; playing musical genres that range from classical, symphonic, gospel, jazz, and r&b. I'm currently in the process of looking for a professional saxophone. While at Sam Ash music store in Atlanta, I was allowed to "demo" the MACSAX Empyreal. From the first note I played, I knew Empyreal was a great quality saxophone. The immediacy of the tone proceeding from the bell of the horn was delightfully astounding. The Empyreal offers great flexibility, rich tone, and ease when quickly transitioning from the low to altissimo registers. As I continued to play, I knew my search had ended. I have definitely found the perfect horn for me as I continue to cultivate and shape my individual playing style.

Great tone quality, all notes come out in tune and very easily. By far the best horn I own.
