The FJ III takes inspiration from the great vintage pieces of the 50's and 60's and applies a new chamber design and new proportions to deliver the richest sound and best playing experience anywhere. The chamber features a specially contoured floor and baffle. This shape is unique to the FJ III and creates a free blowing feel with excellent control.
The sound is very flexible. You can go from a beautiful subtone to a screamin' pop solo and everything in between very easily. One standout feature is how big the sound is. With any amount of air you get a full and balanced sound that lets your personality shine through. At extreme dynamics the sound maintains its center and projects extremely well.
The FJ III tenor mouthpiece is available from .095 (6*) to .125 (9*) tip openings. Each piece is CNC machined using the absolute latest technology and then hand finished as well as being thoroughly play tested. Our processes make each mouthpiece highly consistent and simply fantastic for the player.
Final production models include a high-quality user replaceable bite pad.

There are a ton of pieces out there claiming to be "true" or " innovative". Most are just warmed over designs with a wrinkle. This is not that same old thing again. This made my brighter 162xxx Mark VI (darker than most modern horns) just sing. On my Couf Superba 1 it was was big dark and articulate. Going up in half tip size a was a breeze, MPC played even from top to bottom. Altissimo popping out easily. This mpc has no weaknesses, it's just a question of whether its your sound or not. Tried a ton of reeds Rigotti Golds seem to work the best for me. If you want power without the overbearing baffle, you gotta try this.

After playing the MACSAX FJ3 ALto and FJ3 Tenor mouthpieces for the last 2 months I have come to the conclusion that not only are they extremely well crafted , but they match my playing criteria in all categories. The Response, Tone Quality, Resonance are evenly matched and create an ease of playing that at first requires a moment to adjust to as I don’t have to compensate for unbalanced characteristics of my old mouthpieces. These new generation mouthpieces are the result of a saxophonist/mouthpiece guru Eric Falcon and the staff at MACSAX. Bob Sheppard introduced me to these cats at the 2012 NAMM show and once I played their mouthpieces I was immediately intrigued! There are a number of choices/models available including the Bob Sheppard signature models. All of these mouthpieces offer a unique and state of the art mouthpiece playing experience.
Please go to the MACSAX website and review their product lines including Saxophones and other accessories. These mouthpieces are catching on and are available in select stores and I expect they will become a mainstay in any reputable saxophone stores inventory very soon.
